DO YOU want to look your best for summer or for that special occasion that's coming up? Then the Claudia Mcgloin Clinic is the place for you! We have an array of Non Surgical Cosmetic Procedures and Medical Skin Care Products and Home Treatments to get you looking your optimum best this summer. And we also have a secret! Shhh!
Have you ever wondered why French women look so radiant, elegant and vibrant? Want to know their secret? It's Mesotherapy and it's available at the Claudia Mcgloin Clinic.
Mesotherapy is a medical technique that was developed in France in 1952 and is clinically proven to be effective for Cellulite Reduction, Fat Reduction, Hair Loss, Sports Injuries, Pain Management and of course Skin Rejuvenation. A specially prepared mixture of Vitamins, Homeopathic Ingredients, Amino Acids, Minerals and medications such as Hyaluronic Acid are injected into the problem area. This stimulates the fat cells and causes them to break away.
At the Claudia Mcgloin Clinic we use the French method of application. This is a light touch and rapid motion of a tiny needle which is used to place the Mesotherapy serum under the top layer of your skin. This treatment is not painful and will leave your skin glowing, radiant, rejuvenated, lifted and toned! Time to say goodbye to the saddle bags, love handles, jowls, eye bags, cellulite and fat and say hello to rejuvenated, glowing tones youthful and radiant skin.
In addition to Mesotherapy, we can combine other treatments such as Skin Peels, Genuine Dermaroller, Anti Wrinkle Injections and Dermal Fillers to give you the best results for a natural, less is more look. We also have some amazing Skin Care Products that will compliment your treatments and give you the wow factor.
Have you got Thread Veins on your legs that look unsightly and are preventing you from showing your legs? Microsclerotherapy involves injecting the veins with a chemical by using a tiny needle. This destroys the vein making the walls of the veins fibrose (or stick) together. After the treatment, you will need to wear compression stockings for 2 weeks. The full benefit can take up to 12 weeks to be seen. Laser treatments are NOT used or recommended for Thread Veins of the legs at the Claudia Mcgloin Clinic.
Need to Detox? Did you know that 80% of all illnesses start in the large intestine?
Most people have no idea how much old, hardened, impacted faecal matter there is in their colon. The average person has up to 20 lbs of waste matter in their colon. A person suffering from constipation has up to 40 LBS of waste matter in their colon. Are you feeling or experiencing any or all of the following? Bloated, Constipated, Weight Gain, Lethargic, Flatulence, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Ibs),backache, Indigestion, Candida, Insomnia, Body Odour, Dark Circles Under Eyes, Poor Concentration, Bloating, Colitis, Diverticulosis, Diarrhoea, Menstrual Pain, Bad Breath, Parasites (Worms)
Then a Colonic Hydrotherapy treatment is for you!

Dermal Fillers

Following on from my previous blogs on Chemical Skin Peels, today is about Dermal Fillers! I had my first Dermal Filler earlier. I had my lips enhanced and also had some filler injected into some lines around my mouth. Now I believe in the 'Less is More' approach and that is exactly what I got!

I believe that its all about enhancing your natural beauty and I certainly didn't want to end up with HUGE lips that are so noticeable that everyone knows that I've had some treatments. OK, here I am writing a blog on it BUT in my defence I am doing this for my clients so you know exactly what to expect and you also know that while I am injecting you, I know exactly what it's like!

It doesn't bother me telling people what treatments that I have had done. It does a lot of people but it shouldn't really. Still haven't worked out the real reason people don't tell but the signs are obvious - maybe a little bit more with me as I work in the cosmetic surgery industry but there are times when women say they've had nothing done and they so blatantly have. There is nothing to be ashamed of and people shouldn't hide telling their friends and family. YES a girl can have a wee secret and maybe this beauty treatment is yours! SSShhhh, I won't tell or rather I can't tell...

Anyway, the most important and most asked question -

Does it hurt?

Well, the answer is simple NO! My skin was numbed using an aesthetic cream. Much kinder than injecting without it! After about 40 minutes when my skin was numbed, my lips were injected. Of course you can feel a slight scratch and you know what is happening but its not a long lasting pain. It's over with before you know it. There are a couple of sensitive areas and you may feel a longer sting but it is not bad at all. After each injection, you get to look in the mirror and see what has been done. The beauty with fillers is that you can see the results immediately. It is best in my opinion best to work alongside your practitioner and this is how I work with my clients. You tell me where you want to be injected and together we will enhance your beauty.

Apart from the instant results, there also comes swelling! This is also immediate and of course will subside but it is best to not have a special function to attend in the first 48 hours after a filler. There will also be some bleeding! As soon as the last injection has been finished and the skin cleaned, an ice pack is applied. This of course does help with the swelling.

I am writing this 8 hours post fillers and my lips are still swollen, bruised and are sore! I am struggling a bit to eat and drink and am begging people around me to NOT make me laugh as my lips feel tight! Still it has been worth it as my lips are looking good :) They will look better once the swelling has subsided :)

Would I have it done again? YES, of course I would. Now that I have seen the results and am happy with them. This will be happening on a regular basis. Would I inject myself was another question? NO, it would be impossible to do this treatment on myself plus I really don't think that the results would be as good as having a colleague doing it.

Day 3 & 4 Post Chemical Peel

Well I am putting these days together as they are similar.

Yesterday Day 3 - I woke up peeling :) It is just like peeling after a sunburn. It's not painful and once you moisturise all is ok! I applied a small amount of concealer and off I went about my daily business!

Today Day 4 - I am peeling more :) I am actually getting really excited pulling of the skin! Sad yes but that's me! Cannot wait to reveal the healthy, glowing super soft new skin underneath!

Now I will point out that at NO point during this treatment did I EVER look like Samantha did in the episode of Sex and the City! The pics I have taken throughout these past 4 days will show this!

Throughout these past 4 days, I have carried on as normal with my daily routine. I have been out and about and no-one has noticed the peeling or the shedding skin! It's the norm with us Irish in the summer isn't it?! lol

That's the beauty about this treatment. There is NO down time and no-one will know what you have had done. You just wait for the compliments about your glowing skin :)

Question is - will I have another treatment?

Answer is - YES definitely I will :)

Post Chemical Peel Day 2

First of all I'm going to say that last night I did get a comment that my skin was looking good! WOO HOO! This is of course BEFORE the peeling has started!

Now I did mention in my previous blog Post Chemical Peel Day 1, that I was using the recommended concealer! I have a confession to make - I didn't use that one but a similar make up! All in the way of research for my clients!

I was just coming to the 24 hour post Chemical Peel stage and I tried this different brand just to see what would happen. I did experience a bit of tingling on my cheeks and I'm sure this was due to the ingredients in the produce which may have been reacting to the peel! Fear not my lovelies as it didn't last and I still looked good! I just wanted to see what would happen but you definitely should NOT get your face wet for the first 24 hours post Chemical Peel.

Now I woke up this morning and my skin was feeling slightly tigher and drier. This is a sure sign that the peel is working and I have been waiting for the skin to peel and low and behold as I am writing this - I AM PEELING!!!! Woo Hoo!!

It's starting on my chin and I don't think it will be long before I shed the rest of my skin! I'm so excited now I can't wait to peel it off and reveal my glowing, healthy skin underneath!

As previously said, I have taken pics at the different stages and once all is complete I will post these with full descriptions and will be available to see on my Facebook page, Claudia McGloin Clinic page and my website www.claudiamcgloinclinic.com

Will update you all as the peeling progresses! So excited! :)

Post Chemical Peel Day 1

Well I woke up this morning and my skin was feeling slightly taut. A bit like it does if you have experienced a slight sunburn. Now I have fair skin and I know what that really bad sunburn feels like but this was not bad at all. My skin felt a little tight but was smoother in appearance. The redness was gone too! I applied some cream that is recommended for use after a Chemical Peel and my skin felt fresh and I have to say it did look good.

Throughout the day, I noticed that my skin was feeling slightly drier than usual and of course I didn't have any of my lotions, potions or make up on! I just kept applying the cream and my face felt and looked good! I didn't wash my face which is extremely important as this and the other lotions and potions can interfere with the peel.

Now I know by looking at my face that the Chemical Peel is working and I won't see results for another couple of days until the skin starts to peel but it definitely feels better already! :)

I've been out and about today and I look as though I normally would. There are no tell tale signs that I have had a Chemical Peel which is what we want. We just want comments of 'You are looking fresh and youthful'!

I am out tonight and I have opted to apply some concealer. Not because I need to cover up but because I want to wear some. If I am being honest with you guys, I never go out with make up! LOL.The concealer I have chosen is light and will allow my skin to breathe through the peel. It comes recommended after a peel and is medical.

Watch this space to see if anyone notices any differences.......

Chemical Peel

Well my lovelys, I have given myself a Chemical Peel all in the name of research for my clients! My philosophy at the Claudia McGloin Clinic is to ensure that only the best quality and highest standards of treatments are offered to my clients. I won't recommend or advocate treatments that have not been tried or tested by myself. I need to have the confidence in what I offer to you!

Claudia McGloin Clinic thrives on Clinical Excellence and as a HUGE advocate of Patient Safety, I will strive to undertake the best clinical standards in the Claudia McGloin Clinic. My undertaking of these treatments is to show my clients that 'LESS is MORE' and that you do not need to have major re constructive cosmetic treatments done but simply just to enhance your beauty!

Firstly, I seriously recommend that you do NOT try any of these treatments at home! As a medical professional, I have done this in the strictest sterile clinical setting in the Claudia McGloin Clinic. These products are to be used by medical professionals only and I am simply doing this so I can give you a step by step account of how it feels and what to expect - something I that think is unique to my clinic.

Secondly, by giving you a thorough insight into these treatments, you can be confident that I know exactly what I'm talking about and can take you through it step by step so you know what to expect. You won't come to the clinic with any pre-conceived ideas and you will be well informed before you consent to treatment.

So, what was it like?

Well I have to say it did feel rather odd doing this to myself as I wasn't as relaxed as my clients would be - not meaning I was nervous but I was standing and squatting while giving myself the treatment! My clients are lying relaxed on a couch in the comforts of a soothing, relaxing environment. This aside, I am glad that I did this...

Once the chemical liquid was applied to the skin, it did sting and in my case it did burn a bit BUT I have a trick up my sleeve to soothe this - the trusty hand held fan! It cooled down my skin immediately and allowed me to continue. The stinging doesn't last long and once the neutraliser is applied it stops it completely. The treatment is painless. I can only say that the stinging is like a sunburn! And lets face it my lovelys we have all experienced that and have lived to tell the tale!

My skin did go red but it wasn't very red as in OMG what have you been doing! The beauty of these treatments is there is no down time and you can carry on with your day and evening ALTHOUGH you cannot touch your face and you cannot put creams, lotions and potions on or even wash your face for 24 hours!

Once I finished the treatment I felt fine and carried on as normal.

More to follow as the days go on and of course the pics! Cx
